For over thirty years the Ecumenical Forum of European Christian Women has gathered together women from many different churches and denominations across Europe at seminars, conferences and assemblies. It began in 1978 when the first ecumenical women's consultation took place in Brussels, and it became apparent how enriching and necessary such encounters and discussions were. The women present felt empowered to search for a way to work together in East and West, South and North of Europe and the forum was born.
